One of the core values of Escapology BJJ is community. To us this means building a supportive community within the academy, but also helping the wider Cambridge community as best we can.
Throughout the year Escapology holds a number of events and activities to support our community, however, there are two major ones.
The first is Christmas in July. This is where we run a food drive for Cambridge food bank. The second is our charity open mat in December where we raise money for Jimmy’s Cambridge.
This year we teamed up with Solid Ground to host one of their open mats and it was a huge success.
We had BJJ players from as far away as Torquay in Devon make the journey to Escapology to train and support Jimmy’s. It was an excellent session filled with good vibes and fun rounds, but most importantly we raised £780 for Jimmy’s.
