It Ain’t Over

You’ve probably heard the saying, “it ain’t over ‘til it’s over!” A couple of weeks ago, there was a perfect example of why this is so true for BJJ at the Pan Ams.

You might have heard about the match between Adam Wardzinski and Fellipe Andrew. It was a super exciting match, and up until the 90 seconds, Wardzinski was down by nine points.

Usually, nine points is a death sentence in a BJJ match, even more so against a high-level opponent like Fellipe Andrew. However, Wardzinski had different ideas…

With just 90 seconds on the clock, Wardzinski sweeps passed to mount and equalised the score. Then with just 2 seconds left, Wardzinski sets up a cross choke and scored the winning advantage.

A lot of people would see a nine point deficit against the guy who just beat you in the finals of the euros as insurmountable odds.

But this is a perfect example of why you should never give up in a competition. When I grow up, I hope to have the same resilience as Wardzinski.

Check out the match below as even knowing the outcome, it’s full packed full of some great Jiu Jitsu and Wardzinski’s come back is incredible.
