There are some BJJ players out there that have incredibly frustrating guards to pass. No matter what you do they always seem to tie you up and stifle your pass attempts.
Back in my AOJ days I spent countless hours, trying battle these types of opponents, trying every type of pass I could think of to get around there legs. On many occasions, I would just end frustrated, tired, and getting swept.
But I didn’t start seeing passing success until I did less – a lot less.
I was training with a particularly tough guard player, and getting frustrated as usual. In a last ditch attempt to escape his guard hell, I attempted the crazy dog pass. However, it went wrong and I ended up in an very loose passing position.
As I sat there trying to figure out what to do next, I realised my opponent couldn’t doing anything offensive, his only option was to frame and try to recover.
In that moment, the Lazy Dog was born. It became my go to way to frustrate annoying guard players and slow things down and even submit them if they get sloppy.
On Sunday 6th April at 10 AM, Tom Barlow will be sharing my whole Lazy Dog passing game.

In this masterclass, you’ll learn everything you need to add the Lazy Dog to your game, including:
- Use the Lazy Dog to control and shut down your opponents guard
- The ultra simple setups anyone can do – it lazy after all.
- How to counter the most common defences
- Some brutal submissions that come straight off the pass.
And much more. Whether you’re a speed passer or love the pressure passing game, the Lazy Dog can be incredibly useful addition to your game. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn one of the most over-powered passing systems in BJJ.
