No Gi

Leg Lock Intensive

Starting Thursday 6th October, Jack Sear will be running a Leg Lock intensive for Escapology BJJ students.

Jack is one of the top No Gi competitor’s in the country and a master of the leg locking game.

The intensive will run for 6 weeks, is limited to 30 people, and is FREE to Escapology members.

No Gi Uniform Is In!

With the launch on the No Gi classes at Escapology BJJ in Cambridge, we decided it was the right create some custom No Gi apparel.

After many months of designing, redesigning, and manufacturing, our No Gi uniform is finally available and it looks awesome!

The No Gi uniform consists of a rash guard, spats, and shorts all of which were designed in close collaboration with Whisky Wolf and Scramble. Currently, we have limited sizes available in XS, S, M, L, and XL.

Don’t Fear The Reaper

Despite leg locks being around as long as Jiu Jitsu, a lot of BJJ players find them scary. That’s understandable as being on the wrong end of a nasty leg lock can lead to very serious injury.

However, leg locks don’t have to be scary. In fact, like any submission, defending leg locks comes down to understanding the mechanics and what your partner is trying to achieve.

To help you get a better understanding of how to defend heel hooks, here is a great primer from Dennis Schindler.
